1. Handling & Usage
- Put on shoes using a shoehorn whenever possible to maintain the heel structure and prevent unnecessary bending.
- Avoid forcing your foot into footwear without loosening straps or laces, as this can stretch or deform the material.
- Rotate your footwear—wearing the same pair daily can lead to faster wear and moisture buildup.
- For sandals with leather straps, adjust gently to avoid overstretching or cracking.
2. Contact & Surface Care
- Keep shoes and sandals away from mud, wet grass, rough cement, and abrasive surfaces to protect leather, suede, and delicate finishes.
- Avoid direct contact with water, oils, perfumes, lotions, alcohol, or cleaning chemicals that may stain or discolor the material.
- Protect against sunlight exposure and heat (e.g., car interiors, heaters) as extreme temperatures can fade colors, dry leather, or warp soles.
- For embellished or hardware-detailed pieces, avoid friction with bags or clothing to prevent scratches.
3. Cleaning & Maintenance
- After each wear, gently wipe footwear with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and surface dirt.
- For leather: use only leather-safe cleaners or conditioners applied sparingly.
- For suede or nubuck: use a dedicated suede brush, brushing in one direction; avoid water-based products.
- For rubber soles: clean with mild soap and water using a soft cloth; avoid soaking.
- For hardware: use a jewelry polishing cloth—never abrasive cleaners.
- If shoes get wet, let them air dry naturally. Stuff lightly with tissue to maintain shape. Never use direct heat or sunlight.
4. Storage & Preservation
- Store footwear in a cool, dry environment away from humidity and moisture.
- Use shoe trees for leather shoes to preserve shape and prevent creasing.
- Keep sandals and shoes in individual dust bags or pouches to protect from dust and scratches.
- If long-term storing, fill with soft tissue paper to maintain structure.
- Store upright, not stacked, to avoid deforming straps, heels, or toe boxes.
- Add silica gel packets inside storage boxes (not touching the leather) to prevent moisture buildup.
